Narrative 2D animation featuring real KFC employees as supporting characters
As part of a global campaign for KFC, we produced a story-driven animated film that takes viewers on a detective-style journey through the company’s Lighthouse project — a digital transformation powered by testing, collaboration, and rapid execution.
We were responsible for the full 2D animation production: from concept development and character design to animation, visual effects, and final sound and edit.
What made this project special was the inclusion of real KFC team members as supporting characters.
We designed custom animated avatars for each participant, allowing them to see themselves in the film and become part of
the story.
Storyline:
The main character, Detective Rick, is on a mission to uncover the secret behind the success of Lighthouse. His search takes him around the world — from Bangkok to Berlin to Moscow — where he meets with KFC employees who each reveal a piece of the puzzle. In the end, Rick realizes that the “secret recipe” isn’t a tool or formula — it’s the people, their agility, their teamwork, and how they adapt globally and locally.
Our scope of work included:
• 2D character design and animation (including custom portraits of KFC staff)
• narrative and visual storytelling in a detective noir style
• environment animation, visual effects, and compositing
• sound design and final editing

The result is a bold, engaging, and personality-rich animated film that celebrates KFC’s team spirit while explaining a complex idea through cinematic storytelling.
